The Source:

Josef Zukal:
"Magia posthuma auf der Herrschaft Groß-Herrlitz im 18. Jahrhunderte"
in: "Zeitschrift für Geschichte und Kulturgeschichte Österreichisch-Schlesiens", Troppau, 1907/1908

The Case:

Our previous case in Zattig, however, wasn't the first case in the village. There also is a case that took place in 1711.

"Den 12. Juni 1711 erfolgen dieselben Verordnungen betreffend die Ewa Radlen aus Zattig."

which, as you may have guessed, more or less translates into:

"On the 12th of June, 1711, the same measures are taken against Ewa Radlen from Zattig."

These same measures are: questioning of the farmers, exhumation of the corpse, and cremating it.

The Date:

We have been given the year of 1711.

The Place:

Zattig is a small place in the Czech Republic. It has been renamed to Sadek, and can be found about halfway between Bruntal and Opava.

Possible Follow-Up:

And of course you should get yourself a copy of Josef Zukal's short but interesting article which has much more information than you can find here.
