The Source:

anon :
in : "Der Eilbote", 5 July 1845, Landau in der Pfalz

The Case:

"In Strzepcz (preuß. Provinz Danzig) wurde Nachts die Leiche eines Frauenzimmers wider ausgegraben und ihr mit einem Spaten der Kopf abgestochen, weil man sie für eine Vampyr hielt."

I agree, it is not a lot of information that we have been given:

"In Strzepcz (in the Prussian Province of Danzig), at night, the corpse of a woman was dug up and her head chopped off with a spade, because she was thought to be a vampire."

The Date:

As this is a news item published in July 1845, I guess we can assume that the event took place in 1845.

The Place:

I did find a place called Strzepcz. It can be found close to Danzig, just North of Gdynia.

Possible Follow-Up:

Find and read "Der Eilbote", not that there is any further information there. See if you can find the case mentioned elsewhere.
