The Source:

Josef Zukal:
"Magia posthuma auf der Herrschaft Groß-Herrlitz im 18. Jahrhunderte"
in: "Zeitschrift für Geschichte und Kulturgeschichte Österreichisch-Schlesiens", Troppau, 1907/1908

The Case:

Josef Zukal, whom we have met in the previous case, continues:

"In demselben Dorfe hatte der Dechant laut Auftrag vom 23. November 1723 den Leichnam des Johann Pfleger und im nächsten Jahre (Auftrag vom 14. Dezember) den des Martin Pfleger 'als der magia posthuma verdächtig'zu untersuchen. Hier war also der Zauberwahn epidemisch aufgetreten."

which more or less translates into:

"In the same village, the 'Dechant' - following orders of 23 November 1723 - had to examine the corpse of Johann Pfleger and in the next year - following orders of 14 December - the corpse of Martin Pfleger 'as suspected of magia posthuma'. So here, the superstitious delusion had become epidemical."

The Date:

We have been given the years of 1723 and 1724.

The Place:

Seitendorf, as we have seen, is a small place in the Czech Republic. It has been renamed to Horni Zivotice, and can be found about halfway between Bruntal and Opava. Groß-Herrlitz is now called Velké Heraltice.

Possible Follow-Up:

Like I said: you really should get yourself a copy of Josef Zukal's short but interesting article which has much more information than you can find here.
