WWW.SHROUDEATER.COM - The Vampire of Sapina - SERBIA
John V.A. Fine, Jr. :
"In defense of Vampires"
in Alan Dunde's "The Vampire - A Casebook"
University of Wisconsin Press, USA, 1998
This, more or less, is the story:
A man from Sapina, called Milic Stojadinovic was found guilty of the following facts: he had dug up his dead wife, put part of her shroud over her feet, poured wine over the corpse and then reburied her. His motive: he thought his dead wife was opposed to him getting married again.
The events appear to have taken place in 1844.
Sapina can be found East of Smederevo, not far from the Romanian border.
