The Case:

This, more or less, is the story:

A man from Sapina, called Milic Stojadinovic was found guilty of the following facts: he had dug up his dead wife, put part of her shroud over her feet, poured wine over the corpse and then reburied her. His motive: he thought his dead wife was opposed to him getting married again.

The Date:

The events appear to have taken place in 1844.

The Place:

Sapina can be found East of Smederevo, not far from the Romanian border.
