The Sources:

L. Baroti:
"Beitrage zur Geschichte des Vampyrismus in Südungarn"
in: "Ethnologische Mitteilungen aus Ungarn", Budapest, 1894

The Case:

1753. 11. Jänner. --
"Ujpalankaer Verwalteramt berichtet, dass zu Klein-Dikvan in einer kurzen Zeit 30, und zu Rakasdia 20 Personen, muthmasslich wegen der Vampirs, verstorben sind und bittet in Sachen das Erforderliche einzuleiten."
(Rot. Ujpalankaer Verwalteramt, III, 251)

In my own words just the relevant bit:

The "Verwalteramt" of Ujpalaka reports that in Raskadia 20 people had died in a short time, possibly on account of vampires. And they request that the necessary steps will be taken.

The Date:

The report dates back to the year of 1753.

The Place:

Rakasdia can be found East of Beograd, just across the Romanian border

Possible Follow-Up:

I was lucky to find an old magazine. In it was an article that almost exclusively contained references to other people's work. I checked out some of those references and thus found Prof. Dr. Baroti's 2 page article in another old magazine. Amazingly the good man managed to squeeze no less than 13 authentic cases of vampirism on to those pages. So go find it, go check it out !
