The Source:

L. Baroti:
"Beitrage zur Geschichte des Vampyrismus in Südungarn"
in: "Ethnologische Mitteilungen aus Ungarn", Budapest, 1894

The Case:

According to an official report dated 26 February 1751, the village Kubin is plagued so much by a bloodsucker at night, that people don't want to go there. In the meantime the deceased Marinko Kalaritt is being suspected. So the grave is opened in the presence of the villagers and some officers. The doctors examine the corpse and find it full of fresh blood. So, to restore the villagers peace of mind, the corpse is cremated.

The Date:

We have been informed that the events took place in the year of 1751.

The Place:

Kubin (German) is now called Kovin (Serbian) and can be found East of Beograd.

Possible Follow-Up:

Looks to me like your best course of action is to find yourself a copy of Prof. Dr. L. Baroti's short but important "Beitrage zur Geschichte des Vampyrismus in Südungarn". It can be found in an old magazine called "Ethnologische Mitteilungen aus Ungarn".
