The Source:

L. Baroti:
"Beitrage zur Geschichte des Vampyrismus in Südungarn"
in: "Ethnologische Mitteilungen aus Ungarn", Budapest, 1894

The Case:

According to an official report dated 6 February 1752, a couple of villagers from Deliblat have dug up four people on suspicion that they are vampires. They boiled the hearts and did "various superstitious things" or as the original text has it: "zerschiedene abergläubische Unternehmungen".

The Date:

We have been informed that the events took place in the year of 1752.

The Place:

Deliblat can be found to the East of Beograd.

Possible Follow-Up:

Looks to me like your best course of action is to find yourself a copy of Prof. Dr. L. Baroti's short but important "Beitrage zur Geschichte des Vampyrismus in Südungarn". It can be found in an old magazine called "Ethnologische Mitteilungen aus Ungarn".
